How do I measure for bonnets?

Please measure your child’s head before ordering. If you are unsure, we recommend sizing up.

NB / 0–3 months — fits head circumference 38 cm
3–6 months — fits head circumference 43 cm
6–12 months — fits head circumference 46.5 cm
12–24 months — fits head circumference 49.5 cm
2–3 years — fits head circumference 52 cm
3 years+ — fits head circumference 54.5 cm

How to Measure
Using a soft measuring tape, measure around your child’s head just above the eyebrows, keeping the tape level around the head for the most accurate fit.

How should I care for my Little Bean item?

We recommend a cool gentle wash in a laundry bag on a gentle cycle or handwashing in cool/lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry in the shade and finish with a gentle iron. Please remember, bonnets should always be worn under supervision.

Where do your fabrics come from?

Most of the beautiful fabrics used to create our bonnets are carefully sourced vintage finds, chosen for their character and charm. To ensure the highest quality, comfort, and durability, most linings and trims — along with select additional pieces — are purchased new.

Will my item look exactly like the photo/what should I know about vintage fabric imperfections?

We endeavour to portray the colours and design of each item as accurately as possible in our listings. However, due to the nature of pre-loved and vintage fabrics, every piece is truly one of a kind and may differ slightly from the images shown. Subtle variations can occur, particularly in pattern placement on our patterned and vintage fabrics, making each bonnet uniquely yours.

Many of our bonnets and scarves are crafted from carefully sourced vintage textiles. While we thoughtfully limit any major flaws, markings, or stains, the charm of vintage fabric means there may occasionally be minor imperfections. These small characteristics are part of the fabric’s history and add to the unique beauty and story of each handmade piece.

What are your shipping options and lead times?

For New Zealand, we offer a standard non-rural flat rate of $7.50 NZD, which covers up to 6 bonnets/socks/tights. We allow a lead time of 10 days, though we mostly have them shipped within a few days.

Can I send my order as a gift?

Absolutely! Just pop us a note at checkout, and we will include a complimentary handwritten card. Each order comes thoughtfully wrapped in tissue and slipped into a custom mailer, making it perfect for gifting.
